Vodafone intros cheapest mobiles at 700 Rs $15 in MWC
Vodafone has introduced two mobile phones in Mobile World Congress 2010 that are not only cheap but also fulfilling a common man demand altogether. With these handsets which are available for cost of a Pizza Vodafone expects that the phones will reach 60 percent of the population in India which is considered as a prime market for both these phones.
Nokia, the mobile giant had announced earlier that it would launch the world’s cheapest mobiles at $10; however Vodafone took the lead and announced the launch of its cheapest mobiles at MWC 2010, Barcelona, Spain.
Vodafone 150 which will be sold at a price tag of $15 that comes to Rs. 700 the vodaphone 150 supports mobile payment services, the handset has a miniUSB connector, alarm clock, a torch, calculator a currency converter; 2 embedded games; and memory for up to100 entries in phonebook plus SMS storage. The battery of Vodafone 150 is rated at 500mAh and offers standby time up to 400hrs and talk time up to 5hrs.
Vodafone 250 which will be sold around $20 or 900 rs offers voice and SMS services and packs in quite a few features you wouldn’t expect in such low priced phones. The handset has a5-way navigation key, a 1.45-inch CSTN display, 128×128 pixels, Not only this but also the phone supports FM radio and stereo headset support, wallpapers, polyphonic ringtones, alarm clock, calculator, currency converter and 2 embedded games. This one too has the same battery and yes, there’s a miniUSB connector as well.
The new mobiles launched are aimed on countries like India, Turkey, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Ghana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Qatar, South Africa and Tanzania.
