Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) the leading telecom service provider with more than 8 million customers in the two largest Indian metro cities – which has tied- up with Bharat Berry Technologies Pvt. Ltd. to provide Push email services for all its mobile subscribers has extended it’s free subscription offer for it’s valued customers till Jun 30, 2011.
“Push email” provides an always- on capability by which new emails are actively transferred. Much more preferred than the “pull email” option, “push email” are generally device Dependant and are provided by the device manufacturer. (more…)
MTNL partners with Bharat berry to launch push-mail service in Delhi

MTNL, Public sector telecom services provider in NCR has launched its push mail service. MTNL has entered into an alliance with Bharat Berry Technologies to provide push email services for both the pre-paid and post-paid Dolphin subscribers. The subscriber must have GPRS data plan enabled on its device before subscribing this service.
This service will provide existing users to stay connected to their e-mails, calendar and contacts through the servers hosted in India. In addition company is providing over-the-air (OTA) synchronisation of calendar and contacts for multiple mail accounts.
Bharat Berry is a mobile communication service that works with most of the mobile phones and provides more advanced push mail with over the air backup of your contact, task, calendar and notes along with sync to your outlook. (more…)

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) today announced a new offer called “Broadband Bonanza”, the free activation and testing charges for its Wire-line Broadband service in Mumbai.

MTNL with Livevana launches Friend Finder in Mumbai

MTNL has launched a new VAS application named “Friend Finder“, for its subscribers in Mumbai. Friend Finder is developed by Livevana Innovations Pvt. Ltd. This application can cater to the needs of young people who want to keep in touch with their groups as well as people who are concerned about safety of near and dear ones when they are physically not around as it helps the user to stay connected with his friends and family on the go. It works on most of the platforms like Blackberry, iPhone, Android, Symbian, Brew, J2ME and WindowsCE etc.
MTNL subscriber has to invite (not more than five people at a time) friends or family members to join their friends’ list. Upon acceptance from the invitees, they are added to the friends’ list of the subscriber. This list can have any number of friends. Some of the useful attributes of this application is that it allows the subscriber to use nicknames of friends and is SMS based. Also, being totally consent-based, a friend is free to simply deny the request of being located by the subscriber. MTNL is official service provider for Commonwealth Games 2010

In a bid to provide a robust, effective and failure-proof system of telecommunication during Commonwealth games the Indian government has appointed state-run Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd as the official telecom provider for the Commonwealth Games and sanctioned Rs 182 crores for setting up the necessary communication facilities. With this support, MTNL will establish an exclusive and dedicated telecommunication network inclusive of supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance, and providing professional services.
“The main objective of this project is to provide a robust, effective and fail-proof system of telecommunication. This system will cater to the requirement of transmission of games data, security data, high definition (HDTV) broadcast signal etc. between sports venues, international broadcasting centre, main press centre, master control facilities etc,” said a press statement.
