Bharti Airtel has launched Comedy FM for its mobile phone subscribers. This service will have  jokes, fillers, standup comedy acts and humorous quotations from TV programmes. Airtel prepaid users can dial 52747 to subscribe to the channel. Airtel is known for its interesting and entertaining offers and services. Comedy FM offers listeners 24×7 access to the best of jokes.

Comedy FM is an IVR service and is available at Rs 2/day and 2paise/sec browsing charges. The launch of Comedy FM on Airtel is another step from Airtel towards bringing to their customers what they enjoy the most

Airtel tops National Consumer Helpline list with maximum consumer complaintsBharti Airtel, India’s leading telecom services provider is also leading the chart in being the company facing the largest number of consumer complaints. According to latest data released by the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), more than 2001 complaint calls were received against Bharti Airtel between March 2010 and February 2011.

This was the highest number of complaints against a single company, followed by BSNL (1,986 complaints), Indian Oil (1,940), RCom (1,792) and Nokia India (1,616). Other companies in the top-10 list in terms of number of complaints included Samsung India (1,560), SBI (912), BPCL (872), LIC (626) and ICICI Bank (569). 5 companies in top ten list of NCH are Telecom service providers. Airtel, Bank of Ceylon and BOC Paymate joins to launch MCommerce solution in Sri LankaBharti Airtel Lanka together with Bank of Ceylon and Ceylon’s mobile payment facility, BOC Paymate, India’s leading mobile payments company, today announced the launch of the MCommerce solution to all Airtel subscribers in Sri Lanka. These services are available to all customers of Airtel, enabling them to make instant payments of phone and utility bills, account balance inquiries, mini statements, fund transfers and also, instant post paid account bill payment and pre paid recharge connections, using their BOC account .

This simple text based platform offers Airtel and Bank of Ceylon customers the convenience of making utility bill payments for water, electricity and telephone along with account balance inquiries, mini statements and fund transfers through SMS. Additionally, Airtel recharge facilities as well as postpaid bill-payment facilities are also available to customers over SMS. (more…)

Bharti Airtel ranked amongst the top five firms in Corporate ReputationBharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 19 countries across Asia and Africa, has been ranked amongst the top five firms in Corporate Reputation in India. The current ranking of companies is based on Nielsen Corporate Image Monitor, an annual survey conducted by the Nielsen Company.

The survey is based on key parameters of corporate reputation including customer service, product quality, financial performance, workplace environment, corporate ethics, vision & leadership, and social responsibility.

The study point out that innovation is an increasingly important element in shaping a company’s reputation. Bharti Airtel ranked second on the innovation parameter amongst all companies. Bharti airtel and other global telcos launch Europe India Gateway

Bharti airtel and other global telcos launch Europe India GatewayBharti airtel in collaboration with 16 other global telcos, has announced the launch of Europe India Gateway (EIG) cable system that will enhance the capacity between Europe and India.

The 15,000 Km cable has received investment of around $700 million and has a capacity of 3.84 terabits per second. EIG stretches from Mumbai in India to London UK, with landings enroute in UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Monaco & Marseilles, Gibraltar, Portugal and the UK. Apart from the segment of EIG in Egypt, the remaining cable is now available for commercial use.

With the launch of EIG, Bharti airtel added the connectivity to the Middle East, Africa and Europe by offering enhanced capacity, redundancy and network resilience. The company has been elected by the consortium to provide services relating to Network Administration and Network Operations Control functions for EIG. (more…)
