Tata Teleservices and Future Group Launches T24 GSM

Tata Teleservices Limited, the country’s youngest and fastest-growing pan-India dual-technology telecom operator, and Indian retail giant Future Group has announced the launch of mobile telephony services under the brand name T24 on the GSM platform in a press conference held in Hyderabad. The companies had unveiled Brand T24 after signing a strategic alliance in February this year.
T24 tariff plans will reflect the competitive per-second rates being offered for pre-paid customers on Tata Teleservices Limited’s GSM network. In addition, customers will be rewarded with free talk-time for every purchase above Rs 500 made at Future Group shopping outlets. For example, a T24 customer buying products worth Rs 2,501 at Pantaloons or EZone will stand to gain 50 minutes of free talk-time. Also, a customer spending Rs 1,501 in Big Bazaar will gain 90 minutes of free talk-time for every purchase.
Beginning with Andhra Pradesh, T24 mobile telephony service will be sold through Future Group’s extensive retail footprint across the country. It will be progressively rolled out across the country in the next couple of months, through Future Group’s retail networks in over 75 cities and 65 rural destinations. Customers visiting Future Group retail chains like Pantaloons, Big Bazaar, Central, Brand Factory, EZone, Home Town and Aadhar, among others, will be offered this exclusive mobile connection and tariff plans. Tata Teleservice partners Future Group for New GSM Service T24
0Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) Country’s sixth largest mobile operator, has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Indian retail giant Future Group, to offer GSM mobile services under a new brand name T24 . The company will begin the commercial launch of the new brand in South India.

TTSL’s GSM brand, Tata DoCoMo, currently offers GSM services in 15 telecom circles in the country and has been reporting the highest number of net subscriber addition for the last six months. It was TTSL who initiated a tariff war in the country by introducing the per second billing concept on the other hand Pantaloon Retail, the Future Group’s flagship business, operates in 73 cities and towns and 65 rural locations.
TTSL supports TRAI decision for preparing 4G services
0Tata Teleservices has supported TRAI on issuing a pre-consultation papers on 4G, saying it would help India to come out with high-end services in line with advanced countries. 4G, known as the Long term evolution ( LTE) or ultra-broadband, offers download at faster speed and high definition video on demand.
“About 23 operators from all parts of the world will be launching 4G by 2010. 3G technology was actually launched in 2001 and we are already nine years behind. It should not happen also in 4G you become nine years behind,” TTSL MD Anil Sardana said.
On the same day when India is dreaming of 4G and waiting for 3G, MobileOne (M1) of Singapore partnering with Nokia Siemens Networks, successfully completed a 100 Mbps data call on its Long Term Evolution (LTE) trial network.
