GfK Asia, A Leading market research company revealed that smartphones in Asia continue to register exponential growth in the last 12 months. Over 4.7 million units of smartphones of worth over USD 1.48 billion has been sold out in 3rd quarter of 2010.
With the burgeoning market of smartphones, mobile operating system (OS) war is also heating up among major manufacturers in Asia who are scrambling to introduce their smartphones on a more popular and user-friendly platform. LG Mobile to Launch Lg Optimus One android mobile in India

LG mobile is all set to launch Optimus One; Android powered Smartphone this month in India. Optimus One is country’s first Smartphone that comes with pre-installed Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS. It has features like 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touch screen display at 320x480px resolution, 3Megapixel camera with auto focus.

Google has decided to promote the Android based phones by replacing the old Nexus One sales page with a list of Android powered phones equipped with Google services such as Market, Gmail, YouTube, et cetera. This is a dedicated phone gallery to showcase the Android powered devices which is Continuously growing by addition of new mobiles .
Right now, the list only includes phones from manufacturers HTC, LG, Samsung, verizon and Motorola, although it lists phones from several different carriers in multiple countries ( adding more in coming days ) The comparison feature is probably the best feature of the gallery; A full dedicated page allows you to choose up to three phones and get detailed specs on each one side-by-side, which can be useful in determining the next phone you want to purchase.
Acer to launch Android 3G smartphones in Indian market

Acer, The Taiwan-headquartered Multinational computer technology and electronics company has said it is eyeing 40 per cent growth in India and plans to launch 4 – 6 new 3G enabled smartphones in the market by the end of this year.
“There is a huge growth in the Indian market in terms of consumption of netbooks, notebooks and smartphones.
“We will also introduce 4-6 new models in 3G-enabled Android phones in the next quarter,”. The phones will be priced at Rs 10,000 for a basic model to Rs 24,999 for a high-end set, Rajendran said, adding that the category will witness an “enormous” spurt in sales once 3G services are rolled out.
