Acer to launch Android 3G smartphones in Indian marketAcer, The Taiwan-headquartered Multinational computer technology and electronics company has said it is eyeing 40 per cent growth in India and plans to launch 4 – 6 new 3G enabled smartphones in the market by the end of this year.

“There is a huge growth in the Indian market in terms of consumption of netbooks, notebooks and smartphones.
“We will also introduce 4-6 new models in 3G-enabled Android phones in the next quarter,”. The phones will be priced at Rs 10,000 for a basic model to Rs 24,999 for a high-end set, Rajendran said, adding that the category will witness an “enormous” spurt in sales once 3G services are rolled out.
