Aircel officially launches GSM mobile services in HaryanaAircel, India’s 5th no. Telecom Operator has announced the official launch of its GSM mobile services in Haryana. Though Aircel was available in major cities of haryana from last month  (May 2010) but now they declared it officially.  With this launch now Aircel has a subscriber base of over 40 million and have presence in 20 out of 23 telecom circles in India.

Aircel has Introduced Attractive tariff’s for both Local and STD calls. For local calls their is an in-built reduction in tariffs, where 60 paise will be charged for the first minute, 50 paise for the second minute and 40 paise for the third minute onwards.  For STD calls, the first minute will cost 75 paise and 50 paise from the second minute onwards.

The popular unlimited internet pack is also launched in Haryana with other innovative Pocket Internet cards like, dialer tunes, free games and wall papers for a period of 30 days at a cost of Rs 98.

Aircel Chief Operating Officer Gurdeep Singh said, “We will be introducing services tailored to meet the special needs of Haryana consumers.”  With mobile penetration of 57 per cent in Haryana, there are a lot of segment-based needs that an operator can fulfill. (more…)

Aircel launches GSM services in northern India

Aircel, A joint venture between Maxis Communications of Malaysia and Apollo Hospital Enterprise of India will soon start its attractive GSM services for residents of Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan states. As part of growing its pan-Indian presence, Aircel is expected to roll out services in these three circles* in April and has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to supply the GSM network and manage it for four years as part of a deal worth in excess of 300 million USD

Nokia Siemens Networks will supply the radio, core and microwave network equipment and roll it out quickly and cost efficiently. Its offerings will not only help Aircel reduce its network’s carbon footprint, but also prepare it to launch 3G services in the future. Nokia Siemens Networks has earlier supplied a GSM network and related services to Aircel for the cities of Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, and is the number one provider of managed services in India.
