India Govt asks Google Skype to give access to telecom data
After BlackBerry now Indian Government asked all companies providing communication services in the country, including Google and Skype to provide access to security agencies in their encrypted data. They want all such companies to set up their computer servers within India and need access to the flow of data, voice and SMS through their networks.
Communication services offered by Skype and Google voip which have considerable presence in the country, converts audio in a digital format that is later transmitted over the Internet with voip security to make a call. so far Security agencies don’t have access to the data travelling through Google, Skype and a few other networks that’s why the Union Home Ministry has discussed the security concerns related to voice and messaging services of such companies. Nokia, which wanted to introduce push-mail service in India, has already agreed to set up a server in India.[ad code=1]
