Reliance Communications (RCom) India’s second largest telecom operator owned by Anil Ambani has showed its 3G network capabilities to the public and becomes the first private operator of India who done this . Rcom achieved this by streaming a private news channel broadcast live on a mobile phone and shown it to shareholders on a big screen at the company’s annual general meeting (AMG) .
“We are the first private operator to show our 3G network to the world,” RCOM’s President-Wireless, Syed Safawi, told shareholders as he requested a company executive to operate the mobile phone. (more…)
Rcoms SMSonNET bulk sms service for Broadband users

Reliance Communications has introduced SMSonNET service to Reliance Broadband Subscribers which will let Reliance Broadband users to send bulk SMS from their account directly from the computer. there are different packs starting from Rs. 25 in different options to fulfill individual needs.
SMSonNET service is only available to Reliance Broadband users, to use this service user must register for it first. This service can be subscribed through Reliance VAS portal ‘eMall’. Ad-funded MVNO Blyk Set to Enter India by Next Year

The ad-funded MVNO Blyk (founded in 2006) has long been rumored to enter India with some unconfirmed sources highlighting R-COM as the potential partner. While these moves are yet to be confirmed, as per the latest development, Blyk has secured a round of financing worth Euro 17 million.
These funds have been arranged through a consortium – primarily led by Nexit Ventures, a mobile venture capital firm focused on wireless technologies and services.
The investment is aimed at helping Blyk tap into new markets by forging strategic partnerships with mobile operators around the world and thus delivering its engagement media model to a larger audience.

Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications, Top telecom operators of Indian Telecom industry stated they were ready with their 3G infrastructure and just waiting for the green Signal of spectrum from government. As par Previous announcements the government is likely to release spectrum on September 1 this year after it gets vacated by the defence forces.
“Our network is already ready for providing 3G services. Our content and application are also getting ready for the same and the IT too has geared up. The only thing that needs to be added is the radio network, I am hopeful that before the end of this calendar year, we should see some light on 3G and real user experience happening,” Airtel CEO for India and South Asia, Sanjay Kapoor said (more…)
Reliance Mobile Braille Bill services for visually impaired

Reliance Mobile has initiated a first of its kind Customer Service in India by launching a free of cost braille bill service for its visually challenged customers. In this braille bill service, bills will be dispatched to the post paid customers every month providing details of current usage, bill amount, last dues, last payments and adjustments made without any extra charge.
Existing and new Post paid customers of Reliance Mobile can request for the Braille Bill Service by registering with the company through its call center or customer points including over 2500 Reliance World and Reliance Mobile Stores across 700 cities in India. (more…)
