Reliance Communications launches free mobile banking service with SBIReliance communications in collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a mobile banking services for its GSM subscribers. Now Reliance consumers can use facilities like balance enquiry, mini statement, fund transfer, cheque book issuance, mobile recharge and bill payment at any time and place through the use of their cell phones.

The customers will not require any special mobile application or GPRS to use the service but they should have an account with SBI. Customers will also have to register for the services with the bank and will thereafter get messages for successful transaction. The users will have to dial *595# to view simple menu choices and key in their choice. (more…)

RCom to launch mutli-lingual mobile portal R World Reliance Communications (RCom) has announced its plans to roll-out a next generation mobile portal, R World, for delivering mobile Internet and data services to its over 125 million customers.

RCom intends to offer a new multi-lingual R-World that will offer personalisation option in Hindi, followed by other regional languages.  R-World has been designed to deliver content and applications on the mobile platform. RCom will use Motricity’s m-Core platform to deliver advanced services and applications on its 3G, GSM and CDMA mobile platforms.
