Nokia officialy accepts Lumia 800 battery bug, promises fix in next update.

Nokia’s Windows Phone might be an Incredible Piece of polycarbonate, but it has failed to meet its match with its own battery performance. The Nokia Lumia 800 has mixed reviews regarding battery life. Some stating good, some stating bad. Regardless, the fact some people are reporting that battery life is bad, and there’s a sufficient number to make this an issue… still awaiting a maintenance release next month to take care of the charging portion of the problem, but it seems that yet another bug will need to be addressed at the same time. After word spread last week that something was causing the battery’s capacity to show up as worse than it really is, Nokia did some digging and promptly admitted that something was awry. In the statement (found past the break), the company assured the masses that the battery itself was perfectly fine, but there was a bug in the software and a fix will be included in the next planned update. And then everything will be absolutely perfect… Note this doesn’t affect the 710. They note an easy software fix coming 2012, but even cooler is that if you can’t wait, Nokia will just replace your phone (go do it if you have any scratches on the display. (more…)

Nokia, Leading handset manufacturer has officially launched two new mobile phones Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00 in dual-SIM handset category. The company has announced the arrival of Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00 atits ‘A Twin’s Day Out‘ event in Delhi
Nokia’s new dual-SIM handsets – C2-00 and X1-01 – are priced at about Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively. Nokia C2-00 has expandable memory up to 32 GB and allows users to browse the Internet, while Nokia X1-01 offers up to 36 hours of continued music playback. Nokia X1-01 mobile phone also offers Nokia Money service that provides financial independence to the consumers.
According to Mr Prakash Katama, Director, Chennai Factory, Nokia India, these latest entry-level variants from Nokia are C2-00 will be priced around Rs 3,000, however the other model Nokia X1-01 will be priced under Rs 2,000. Nokia, the largest mobile phone maker in the world, has announced its debut in ‘Touch and Type‘ design by launching two models, X3-02 and C3-01 in Indian market. Touch and Type phones provide consumers with the best experience with the phones having touchscreen facility and the keypad. Nokia X3-02 nad Nokia C3-01 both are 3G enabled and Priced at Rs 8,839 and Rs 9,389, respectively.
Nokia X3-02 has a 2.4 inch Touchscreen inch touchscreen with 240×320 pixel resolution. The traditional alpha-numeric keypad makes it unique from other models available in market. It also has a powerful 5 megapixel camera, FM radio , Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 32 GB micro SD support.

Nokia and Reliance partners to Unveil Ovi store in India

Nokia and Reliance Communications, under a unique partnership has announced the launch of the India chapter of Ovi Store. Reliance Communications will be the first service provider to offer integrated operator billing for their consumers in India enabling access to a host of paid for content on the Ovi Store. The amount will be either included in their monthly mobile phone bills or deducted from the pre-paid balance, per their data plans.
The Ovi Store includes a wide array of content file types including engaging applications, games, videos and podcasts. Users can enhance their mobile experience and immerse themselves in various fun-filled apps. Alone in India Ovi Store has more than 4.5 million downloads a week.
Commenting on this alliance, Prashant Gokarn – 3G Head, Reliance Communications, said, “Nokia and RCOM relationship brings exclusive apps through Ovi Store coupled with a convenient purchase process.
