MTS MBlaze High Speed Mobile Broadband Service Launched in Andhra PradeshSistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) has announced the launch of its high-speed mobile broadband service, MBlaze in Andhra Pradesh. MTS has rolled out its high speed mobile internet services in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, Tirupati, Warangal, Rajahmundry and Kakinada. Bringing in portfolio of world-class services and innovative offers, MTS becomes the first telecom service operator to provide High Speed Mobile Broadband services at Tirumala Hills in Tirupati. MTS now provides High Speed Mobile Broadband services in over 60 towns across the South Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

MTS provides High Speed Mobile Broadband services in over 100 Indian cities including the top five metros. The company is rapidly expanding its high speed data (HSD) network and currently addresses over 92% of data potential across India. Spectranet Partners With Aircel to provide wifi servicesSpectranet, a next-gen cloud-based services provides has partnered with Aircel to offer high speed Internet access to Aircel customers on WiFi. Spectranet Wi-Fi service can be accessed by Aircel subscribers on all kinds of Wi-Fi enabled devices including mobile phones, laptops and tablets.

Aircel subscribers can access the Wi-Fi services by latching onto the “aircel_spectranet” SSID and following a simple two-step registration process. Spectranet has deployed Wi-Fi network at over 1000 hot-spots across six metros Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. Over the next five years Spectranet plans to invest Rs. 500 Crore to expand its services across 50,000 hot spots and over 5 million households (more…)

Bharti airtel and other global telcos launch Europe India GatewayBharti airtel in collaboration with 16 other global telcos, has announced the launch of Europe India Gateway (EIG) cable system that will enhance the capacity between Europe and India.

The 15,000 Km cable has received investment of around $700 million and has a capacity of 3.84 terabits per second. EIG stretches from Mumbai in India to London UK, with landings enroute in UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Monaco & Marseilles, Gibraltar, Portugal and the UK. Apart from the segment of EIG in Egypt, the remaining cable is now available for commercial use.

With the launch of EIG, Bharti airtel added the connectivity to the Middle East, Africa and Europe by offering enhanced capacity, redundancy and network resilience. The company has been elected by the consortium to provide services relating to Network Administration and Network Operations Control functions for EIG. (more…)

BSNL lauches 3G services in KangraBharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), State own Telecom provider has launched its 3G services in Kangra town of Himachal Pradesh. BSNL had already launched 3G services in Dharamshala, Palampur, Chamba, Tanda and Yol cantonment. Announcing the launch, Deepak Chautervedi General Manager BSNL said, ” 3G services would be launched at Dalhousie and Paproala, too this month. Moreover 3G data card holders would get free usage of 6 GB per month.

He further said that 5 EVDO BTSs had been installed at Dalhousie, Kangra, Surani, Mehmoor and Bhuana for enhanced data service on WLL. Wimax services had been started recently at Kunjar Mahadev, Bharmour and Holi in its first phase to provide Broad Band services to Lokmitra Kendra sponsored by DIT. (more…)
