Idea Cellular, India’s 3rd largest mobile operator has launched a special ‘International Roaming Offer’ for its postpaid subscribers. Starting April 15th, Idea postpaid subscribers can avail a flat 25% discount on their mobile phone usage while traveling to any of the 12 most frequently visited countries in the world viz. UAE, USA, Singapore, UK, Thailand, China, Germany, France, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and Italy. The offer is valid for three months till July 14th 2011.

Idea rolls out 3G services in MP Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and HP

IDEA Cellular, India’s third largest mobile operator has finally announced the launch of its ‘Gold Standard’ 3G services that will catapult mobile communication services and transform user experience. Idea launched its 3G services in MP & Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh circles. To anchor the occasion, Idea unveiled a new 3G logo. The new branding will be implemented throughout India, across all customer touch points.
Idea has set up ‘Experience Kiosks’ to provide a flavour of the services that customers can opt for. These will be available to all users at select ‘My Idea’ stores. Idea cellular and Axis Bank launches Idea MyCash

IDEA Cellular in association with Axis Bank has flagged off ‘Idea MyCash’, a facility aimed at providing basic banking services including money transfer, using the mobile platform. This is the 1st Financial Inclusion initiative in the country, to go “live” on the mobile platform.
This is a mobile based financial inclusion initiative which besides providing basic banking services like cash deposit, cash withdrawal and balance enquiry will also enable money transfer between the migrant population in urban areas to their beneficiaries back home. The remittance facility is being offered in the Dharavi – Allahabad remittance corridor to begin with and will be extended to other remittance corridors subsequently.
Idea has developed a technology platform that enables the provision of the entire gamut of banking products and services to the end customer through a mobile phone with cash in/cash out at Idea Retailers. (more…)
