BSNL pan India STD tariff is now as local call; 80 paisa 3 minsBSNL, the dominant fixed line operator of the country, has slashed Fixed line STD Call charges to any network to Local Call rates w.e.f. 1 st December 2010. STD Pulse is now 180 sec (same as local) anywhere in India. Its applicable on all calls made to any Fixed Line phone ( less than 10 digit numbers) throughout India. Consequently the customers will now be able to talk for three minutes in one call unit charge, which varies from 80 paise to Rs 1.20 depending upon the tariff plan.

With distinctive clear voice, no call drops and uninterrupted speech, landline customers can now make long conversations across India without paying any extra STD charges.

This facility will be automatically available to all the Fixed Line Customers of all tariff plans. The customers already availing dynamic locking facility will continue to avail the same and can bar STD (Level 0) calls,  (more…)

BSNL lauches 3G services in KangraBharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), State own Telecom provider has launched its 3G services in Kangra town of Himachal Pradesh. BSNL had already launched 3G services in Dharamshala, Palampur, Chamba, Tanda and Yol cantonment. Announcing the launch, Deepak Chautervedi General Manager BSNL said, ” 3G services would be launched at Dalhousie and Paproala, too this month. Moreover 3G data card holders would get free usage of 6 GB per month.

He further said that 5 EVDO BTSs had been installed at Dalhousie, Kangra, Surani, Mehmoor and Bhuana for enhanced data service on WLL. Wimax services had been started recently at Kunjar Mahadev, Bharmour and Holi in its first phase to provide Broad Band services to Lokmitra Kendra sponsored by DIT. (more…)

BSNL offering free SIM cards with landline connection in MH and GoaBSNL, State owned telecom operator has announced a new plan named ‘Pyari Jodi‘ offering a free mobile SIM to fixedline subscribers. BSNL has announced this scheme to retain its declining landline user base, It will be rolled out in Mumbai and then to rest of Maharashtra and Goa.

This innovative scheme will enable all BSNL landline subscribers in Maharashtra and Goa to get a free mobile SIM card. It is not the connection that will be free, but even the calls made to BSNL wired line service will also be free. (more…)

BSNL Video Calls and DATA Facilities now for 2G CustomersBSNL, The state own telecom operator extends its video calling facility to 2G Prepaid customers in Tamilnadu Region enabling them to experience the next generation 3G mobile services on 2G network. All existing 2G prepaid plans are allowed to use this 3G services but customer should have 3G enabled handset. 3G Tariff for Video call / Data will be applicable.

The difference between 2G and 3G services are (1) video call facility and (2) Data speed. i.e. The default Data speed for any 2G customer is upto 128kbps where as 3G customer can avail upto 3.6Mbps (more…)
